Congratulations to the 2019 Smart Service Scholarship Winner!

The Smart Service team takes great pride in serving the hard working professionals in HVAC, plumbing, electrician, and other field service industries. The oft-unsung work our customers do enable the comforts and conveniences of modern living, and when we can, we like to give a little something back. That’s exactly why we established The Smart Service Scholarship.
The Smart Service Scholarship awards $2,000 every year to a student pursuing an education in a skilled trade or field service occupation. Very few programs offer financial aid to students pursuing such specializations, so we’re happy to step in.
After reviewing countless applications, we awarded this year’s scholarship to Jody-Ann Young, an aspiring plumber at Allentown Master Plumbers Association.
“Growing up my whole life I thought I wanted to go to college,” Jody-Ann says. “Then high school came around and I found myself exploring different options. I never thought in a million years that I would end up loving plumbing. I would consider myself a ‘girly girl!'”
“But from the day I stepped into the plumbing lab, I knew my life would change and knew this was what I was called for. I studied plumbing for 3 years during high school.”
“As a young girl I was told that we can do anything we put our minds to, even getting involved in a non-traditional trade. I always say I did not choose plumbing, plumbing chose me.”
